![]() My Page Numbers are Wrong in ProDEX, what is the Fix?
Step 1 - In ProDEX, select "Options", then "Misc Setup..." Step 2 - Inside the "Change Starting Page Number" box, type in the correct starting page number inside the "Transcript Starts on Page" box Step 3 - Press OK ![]()
Explanation:
When you run ProDEX, the Starting Page Number resets to 1. Should you process an ASCII that doesn't begin with page 1, You must follow the above instructions.
Example:
Say you process an ASCII that was the second day of a deposition. Let's assume that your second day ASCII started on page 112. You would follow the above instructions, but type in 112 as the starting page number.
Also Note:
ProDEX can also accept negative numbers for the starting page number. So, if you process an ASCII that has four administrative pages before page 1, You would follow the above instructions, but type in -4 as the starting page number.
Also Note - If your ASCII file lacks proper Page Breaks:
Forget it. Keyword Indexing programs require Page Breaks in your ASCII files. Without Page Breaks - the entire Transcript becomes One, Really Long, Giant Page. So - No Page Breaks - No Keyword Index - those are the rules. |
