How to fix the No Print Device is Installed problem
| NOTE: | You might see this message the very first time ProTEXT or ProDEX starts. If this happens on a Brand New Computer and no printers are installed yet, you have to install at least one printer driver, then restart ProTEXT or ProDEX. |
From ProTEXT or ProDEX, select "File", then "Printer Setup"
Choose the printer you want to use from the list of installed printers
Press "OK"
In ProTEXT - Condensed words spill outside of the boxes
The Condensed looks perfect in ProTEXT, but when I print, all of the words are way too big.
Cause: You are using a very old HP LaserJet 4 Printer Driver
Fix: Use Windows Add Printer Wizard to use the HP LaserJetIII driver

NOTE: This problem only happened when the HP LaserJet 4 first came out.
Hewlett Packard later fixed the problem, but I had hundreds of users with the bad HP4 printer driver.
However - it's REALLY EASY TO FIX by substituting the HP LaserJet III driver, which always worked better.
