Hints for Omni CAT users
ProTEXT works very well with Omni CAT
To make a properly formatted ASCII text file using OMNI CAT
To create an ASCII file which contains Page Breaks:
- Edit your current Omni Cat "LIT CONFIG" file.
- Change PAGE BREAKS = 0
to PAGE BREAKS = YES
To create an ASCII file which is Double Spaced:
- Edit your current Omni Cat "LIT CONFIG" file.
- Change SHOW DOUBLE SPACE = 0
to SHOW DOUBLE SPACE = YES
EXAMPLE: Making a NEW LIT CONFIG file:
From the Main Menu in Omni Cat:
- Press 4 - Edit Selection
- Press 1 - Start Edit of Text
- A screen comes up:
The first line just contains your name or initials
The second line (Job Name:) will hold the
name of your new LIT CONFIG file.
Type in a very simple name, (no spaces)
(Like "CT" for Court Transcript) press Enter
- Make New file? Answer Y for yes.
- A blank screen comes up:
- Type this exactly
PAGE BREAKS = YES
SHOW DOUBLE SPACE = YES
- Press F2 (Save and Quit)
When you create your ASCII file, use the job name that you used in step 3 above.
The new ASCII file will now be in a proper format.
